These are the terms that apply when you read CookieGrove. We have kept them readable, because terms nobody can get through protect nobody: you should finish this page knowing exactly where you stand.
Ownership
We wrote the cookies and baking content here and we keep the rights to it. Personal use is the point of publishing; lifting an entire page for another site is not personal use. A quoted sentence with attribution is fine.
Product names
Brand and product names belong to the companies that own them. We use them to identify what we are writing about, not to suggest any association or approval.
Privacy and cookies
What the site does with data is a separate matter, set out in the privacy policy and the cookie policy. Those pages form part of the same understanding as this one.
Changes to the site
Expect the site to change. Pages are corrected, restructured and now and then taken down, and there is no undertaking that any URL will keep working or keep saying the same thing.
Permitted use
- Personal reading, printing and linking need no permission.
- Bulk or automated copying is not permitted, including collection for republication or for training a model that reproduces the text.
- Passing our writing off as yours, in any language, is not permitted.
- Interfering with the site’s operation or security is not permitted.
No advice given
None of this constitutes professional advice, and it should not be the last thing you read before an expensive or risky decision. General information is what a website can honestly offer.
On accuracy
Every figure here is checked before it goes up. None of them can account for your particular kit, ingredients or conditions, so read them as a starting point rather than a guarantee.
Comments
If comments are open, what you write stays yours, and you grant us permission to display it alongside the article. We moderate: anything abusive, off-topic or promotional is removed without discussion, and repeat offenders are blocked.
Limits
Our liability is limited as far as the law permits, and no further. Acting on general information published for a general audience carries a risk that stays with the reader, but statutory rights are untouched by that.
External sites
We link to outside sites when they are worth reading. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what they publish.
How the site is funded
How the site pays for itself, advertising and affiliate links, is set out in full on the affiliate disclosure page rather than summarised here.
Legal footing
These terms are read under the law of the United States and the state in which the site is operated. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Nothing here removes a right you hold under consumer law that cannot be waived.
The whole agreement
Taken with the privacy and cookie policies, this page is the complete set of terms. Correspondence does not modify it, and neither does anything published on a social account.
Revisions
We may revise these terms; whatever is published here is what governs. There is no separate notice sent out, which is why the current text always lives at this address rather than in an email you might have missed.
