I’m Hazel, and CookieGrove is a one-person operation in Asheville. When you write in, it reaches the person who baked the cookie and wrote the recipe. The form below is the way to do it. I read everything that comes through, even when a reply takes me a few days.
What is worth writing about
- A recipe that spread when it should not have. Tell me your butter temperature, your oven, and whether you chilled the dough. Spread problems are almost always one of those three, and I would rather find out my instructions were not clear enough.
- A texture that came out wrong. Cakey when it should be chewy, or the reverse. Say what you were aiming for and what you got.
- A substitution that worked. I bake with what I can get in one town. If you found a swap that holds up, that is genuinely useful and I will test it.
- A number that looks off. Bake times, pan sizes, yields. If yours disagrees with mine, tell me and I will check it again.
How long a reply takes
Usually a few days. If your question is about a recipe going wrong mid-bake, say so in the first line and I will get to it sooner. I answer questions about baking; I do not answer questions about what to do with a dough you already threw away, mostly because there is nothing useful to say.
What will not get a reply
- Guest post offers. Nothing on this site is written by anyone else.
- Paid link placements, sponsored inserts, and anything described as a collaboration that turns out to be a link request.
- Generic SEO outreach.
Those go unanswered rather than refused individually, which saves us both the exchange.
